Training & coaching programs

We deliver customised in-person and live video training to teams. The training is tailored to the needs of the team but usually teaches participants the evidence-based fundamentals of productivity, identifies their biggest productivity roadblocks, helps them to design and implement solutions, and ensures participants have the knowledge to identify and remedy any productivity issues that may arise in future.

What do you do?

Yes! Without training and the right set-up, remote working is difficult. We have developed training content to help teams adjust quickly to working remotely.

Do you have training specific to remote working?

How much?

We customise every program to your needs but as an indicator:

  • 1-on-1 coaching is around $330 (inc. GST) per hour

  • a three-stage Team Program is around $1100 (inc. GST) per person

  • a three-stage Leaders Program is around $1650 (inc. GST) per person

How long?

It depends on the team's availability and what you need but our Programs are usually delivered over 3-stages over a 6-week period.

We don't do 1-day programs. The change rarely sticks with a big bang approach and we want to measure the gains over time.

Management consulting services

We work with organisations to ensure their work environment allows people to be productive. These projects usually involve elements of training and culture change designed to make lasting change so teams can get difficult things done faster.

What do you do?

These projects vary depending on the scope. After a call to scope the project, we’ll get a quote to you in 48 hours. Fill out the contact form here we'll be in touch to organise a scoping call shortly.

More about Building 20

The team has many years of hands-on experience in strategy consulting, facilitation/training, change management and research. We have developed and delivered productivity programs for hundreds of people across teams of all shapes and sizes.

What expertise do you have?

What's your evidence base?

The programs are built from the latest peer-reviewed research from psychology, neuroscience and behavioural economics. We make sure the research is delivered in an engaging way with lots of practical insights and real-world examples.

We've condensed some of the interesting research into a White Paper that you can download for free here.

While we can't name all our clients, we've worked with individuals and teams from across the Commonwealth and State Public Service, start-ups, scale-ups, big business, and small. Here’s a case study of the impact our training program had on HotDoc (an Australian health-tech firm). What the teams we work with have in common is that they're ambitious and know that they have room to improve.

Who have you worked with?

What's with the name?

The original Building 20 was a temporary structure at MIT. Because it was temporary, people felt empowered to change the space to work for them; floors were knocked out and home-made extensions added. The building was also used to relieve the pressure on an over-crowded campus so there were interesting people from different research fields and student groups bumping into one another.

The collisions between interesting people and their ability to use the space as required led to amazing collaborations and breakthroughs, including the Bose Corporation, the atomic clock and modern linguistics to name a few.

The Building was referred to as the 'Magical Incubator', which captures the spirit of what we want to do: help people use their environment and interact with colleagues (and others) in ways help them do difficult things faster.
